ABOUT US

We would like to introduce you to the newly formed coalition A1 Stigma Free Coalition.
This grassroots group has been developed over the last several months with the assistance of the Living
God Church in Avondale, the Hamilton County African American Engagement Workgroup (AAEW) and
the local non-profit, Prevention FIRST! (PF!). The number of fentanyl/xylazine laced deaths in the African
American community in Hamilton County has dramatically risen and isn’t slowing down. We are group of
incredibly committed volunteers to bring awareness about street drugs being laced with
fentanyl/xylazine, reduce the number overdoses and destigmatize addiction across the board.
A1’s mission is to reduce the stigma of overdose deaths in the African American community by providing
evidence-based treatment, education and resources.
A1’s vision is to eradicate all behavior health disparities in the African American community in Hamilton
County by providing education and access to a full continuum of care.
For the next couple of months, we will be conducting grassroots education outreach to beauty and
barber shops in the Avondale, Walnut Hills and Roselawn areas. On September 16, the coalition will
hosted a Resource Fair at the New Prospect Church in Roselawn.
A1 welcomes you throughout the year to be a part of our group whether you can attend meetings, be
available for events, bring your knowledge and skills to the group, or promote the work of the coalition
throughout the area.
